Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a model of student recruitment policies with emphasis on the relationship between university and industry. The research method is a two-step exploratory combination of instrument making. The qualitative stage consists of qualitative case study and potential participants including university presidents and professors, and industry and management activists. The sampling approach is purposeful and its method is key experts’ views. Until theoretical saturation, data collection continued. The research tool is an in-depth, semi-structured interview. In qualitative stage and in the first part, the data and components extraction is done by content or theme analysis method. Then, the interviews with experts, and the questionnaires have been used in order to make the research model. The extracted model from research findings analysis is designed in the form of seven main dimensions, eleven components and thirty six criteria. The seven main dimensions are: “university internal factors”, “policy making and redesigning”, “university external factors”, “academic upgrading”, “legal background”, “fundamental developments”, and “institutionalization”. In quantitative stage, the research method is description-survey and the statistical population includes 20 university presidents and professors, industry and management activists, and student recruitment issues. To validate the model, 20 people are selected using targeted sampling approach and key expertise method. The tools used in this stage are the researcher-made scale based on the network themes of the previous stage. Quantitative analysis is performed by Fuzzy one to determine model validity.
