Abstract
All industrial, manufacturing and service companies need innovation to
survive and achieve their goals, and the rail transportation industry is no
exception. In the field of organizations, innovation capability is a
process that challenges the existing situation through new thinking and
attitude to the content of processes and changes in the combination of
three factors: technology, environment and organization. Therefore, in
this research, a comprehensive Pattern was developed to Assessment the
innovation capability of rail passenger companies in Iran. The statistical
population of this research includes the senior managers of Iran Railway
Company and passenger rail transportation companies of the country.
In this research, the identified indicators of innovation capability
assessment based on literature review, interviews and questionnaires
were weighted using the Swara technique and passenger companies
were ranked using the Kupras technique model.
Based on the results, the research and development capability was
assigned the first priority and it represents the most important
innovation capability in the country's rail transportation industry.
According to the output of Kopras, Raja's company was ranked first in
terms of innovation capabilities.
For the better prosperity of railway companies in Iran, innovation is
considered a competitive advantage. Due to the lack of a comprehensive
model to measure the potential of innovation in the railway industry,
providing a model to evaluate the ability of innovation will be a way
forward.
