English

Data marketplaces are the digital platforms on which data providers and buyers exchange data and the marketplace supports the security of transactions and also ensures the execution of payments while the privacy preservation of the users is guaranteed. This study aimed to design a business model classification framework for health data marketplaces. To do so, a relevant business model ontology framework named STOF was selected as a conceptual framework to conduct a taxonomy introduced by Nickerson (2013). Finally, a business model classification framework including 22 dimensions and 84 specifications grouped under 4 construct blocks of S, T, O, and F was generated. The findings of this study can promote the knowledge on health data marketplaces business models on one hand, and on the other hand researchers and practitioners can conduct their researches or businesses using the suggested framework.
